Summit Roofing is aware that the busy season of fall is rapidly approaching. That being said, there is no justification for letting your roof go another autumn and winter unchecked! SPC Construction & Roofing can make sure your roof is prepared for autumn storms, showers, and yes, leaves.
If You Don’t Answer the Call from Your Gutters, They Could Start to Leak soon
Your gutters — are they full? — is one of the first topics that comes up whenever any roofer, anywhere, talks about autumn. How old are they? Are they dripping or creating any puddles? You must have known that this would be our first piece of advice.
You should clear your gutters of any debris before doing anything else this fall. We know that most people say they’ll clean their gutters at the end of the season because otherwise they’ll get refilled with leaves from this year, but how often do you think they actually follow through and go clean their gutters in the early winter?
Give Summit Roofing a call and, depending on the extent of the damage currently present, we will either repair, replace, or clean your gutters. This will save you from having to put off your gutter cleaning indefinitely for future you.
Your gutters should be thoroughly cleaned before this fall fully begins, whoever cleans them. That double dosage of fall leaves may cause water to accumulate in your gutters, increasing the possibility of water damage later this winter if you wait until next spring. You absolutely don’t need it, either. Read our article on Gutter Repair.
Look for Trees or Branches That Are Overhanging
Fall is coming, and it doesn’t only mean that leaves will start to fall; occasionally, bigger things can too! This includes both huge and tiny branches, and if they are protruding over your property, this could result in significant damage.
If a whole tree falls on your roof, you will require emergency roof repairs or storm restoration right away. While we are pleased to assist you right away, we would prefer that you never had this problem.
Everyone enjoys living in an established neighborhood with beautiful trees and shade, but you need watch out that they don’t encroach on the edge of your roof, endangering the security of your house and loved ones.
Look Inside for Any Cracks or Water Marks
Not all damage is visible from the outside; in fact, water damage is frequently most obvious inside your home where it can be noticed as watermarks or discoloration on the ceilings.
This fall, inspect your interior ceilings to see how the condition of your roof is outside. Even if you are checking things out from the safety and comfort of your house, it can still give you a good picture of what is going on outside.
